IT Field Delivery Engineer – Permanent Position

Job Details
- Location: Swindon (Hybrid working model—mix of office and home working)
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Salary: £30,000 + extensive company benefits, including:
- Flexible benefits scheme
- 2 paid-for volunteering days per year
- Hours: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
- Interview Process: 2-stage

Role Purpose
The IT Field Delivery Engineer will:
- Provide on-site IT support for hardware and software products, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Deliver efficient, proactive IT solutions tailored to customer needs
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Maintenance
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain PCs, laptops, local/remote printers, and network peripherals
- Handle basic server support (AV, telephony, and networking where applicable)
- Support OS and application-related incidents as per customer/manufacturer procedures

Incident & Project Baseline
- Execute IMA (Install, Move, Add, Change) projects per specifications
- Generate and manage RMA (Return/Move/Adjustments) flows in a timely manner

Customer & Team Collaboration
- Liaise with Call Administration, Service Delivery Managers, and on-site teams
- Track and detail incidents on ITSM (IT Service Management) tools within SLA timelines

Operational Excellence
- Train on and embrace new technologies to retain up-to-date expertise
- Complete KPI targets for service delivery
- Represent a mentor role to junior engineers

Health, Safety & Compliance
- Comply with fire, security, and workplace H&S regulations in local and customer environments
- Conduct 24/7 coverage via a rotational system
- Work overtime as required by operational demands

Documentation & Administration
- Update/prepare technical documentation as necessary
Skills & Experience
Core Requirements
- Professional appearance & customer service excellence
- Full UK driving licence (where mandatory by customer requirements)
- Ability to obtain Government/Police Security clearance as stipulated in contracts
- Proven self-motivation & organisational skills with minimal supervision
- Possession of: CompTIA A+ or relevant equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of Windows Server operations, IT tools, and telephony
- Ability to work at height, undertake manual handling tasks
