Salary & Hours
£37,100 - £39,600 DOE
37.50 hours per week including some overnight stays and out-of-hours store visits.
Field-based role with extensive travel across the east of the UK, ideally covering Milton Keynes

Job Introduction
As an IT Field Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of in-store IT systems across various company locations. You will play a key role in maintaining, deploying, and troubleshooting IT and CCTV equipment in retail environments, ensuring that stores operate efficiently and with minimal downtime. You’ll be expected to work independently, adapt quickly to new technologies, and communicate effectively with store teams and central IT support.

Job Overview
- Hardware Maintenance & Asset Management: Performing in-store hardware maintenance, including asset tagging, cleaning, and labelling network components.
- Installation & Configuration: Installing and configuring IT and CCTV equipment to a set standard.
- Hardware Deployment & Lifecycle Management: Swapping, retrieving, and redeploying hardware as required.
- Network Support & Troubleshooting: Supporting network connectivity and troubleshooting issues with the help of the central IT team.
- Project Support & Implementation: Supporting new store installations and refurbishments as required.
- Data Protection & Compliance: Maintaining high standards of confidentiality and ensuring compliance with GDPR.
- Continuous Improvement: Contributing to improvements in systems and internal processes.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company health and safety procedures.

Minimum Criteria To Apply
- Full, clean UK driving licence (travel to various sites is required)
- Previous experience in a similar field-based IT role
- Experience with hardware installation and basic networking (e.g. cabling, routers, connectivity)
- Comfortable working independently, including managing and prioritising your own workload
- Equally comfortable working as part of a team where appropriate, for example on larger installation projects
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Ability to follow technical instructions and troubleshoot issues effectively
- Able to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
