IT Financial Controls Manager

Competitive salary, plus £4,200 car allowance, fully family healthcare, 18% annual bonus potential, 27.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising with service and a company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates

Permanent, Full time

This role will be based out of London Farringdon 4 days per week.

At Royal Mail, we’re a £7.8 billion turnover business with a national footprint and a proud heritage.

Our Finance team plays a pivotal role in driving growth and shaping the future of one of the UK’s most iconic organisations. From strategic planning and forecasting to controls and company-wide transactions, this is a place where finance professionals can make a real impact.

We’re looking for an IT Financial Controls Manager to lead critical controls testing and strengthen our risk management framework. If you have a finance background with experience in IT audit, risk, or controls testing and can confidently communicate risks and controls to senior stakeholders we want to hear from you.

About The Role

You will lead internal IT control testing to provide second-line assurance over control effectiveness—focusing on IT General Controls (ITGCs), application controls, and SAP S/4HANA and cloud-based systems.

You will support control remediation, manage the AuditBoard GRC platform, and contribute to the ongoing development of Royal Mail’s IT risk and controls framework.

You will also:

  • Plan and execute annual IT controls testing across SAP S/4HANA, cloud, and on-prem environments
  • Assess ITGCs (e.g., change management, access controls, SOC reports) and application/interface controls
  • Coordinate testing and evidence collection with control owners and SMEs
  • Collaborate on initiatives to improve control processes
  • Support stakeholder reviews and approvals
  • Promote IT controls awareness and training
  • Mentor team members and control owners

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
