Position title: IT Helpdesk Technician

Reporting to: Senior Helpdesk Technician

Salary: (Grade 5) GBP £46,256 gross per annum - Due to its commitment to maintain equity and fairness, C40 operates on a spot salary model. This means that our employees are paid the same salary according to their grade and location.
Term: Indefinite contract

Department description
The C40 IT team is responsible for providing support to about 500 staff members in over 40 countries. Support is primarily handled remotely with support teams based in New York and London. The infrastructure is cloud-based using third-party suppliers.
Position description:
The Helpdesk Technician will be responsible for addressing the day-to-day helpdesk tickets; reviewing inventory needs; monitoring and proactively managing computers and phones; supporting and helping to implement security procedures; and addressing special IT projects as necessary. The Helpdesk Technician will report to the Senior Helpdesk Technician and will work closely with other employees on the IT Team and the Corporate Services department to plan and implement strategic IT projects across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Address incoming IT Helpdesk tickets, ensuring that the level of service offered to staff meets the high standards required by C40.
- Support staff in the use of Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft Office, Asana, Okta and Zoom in a macOS and iOS environment.
- Monitor and proactively manage Apple computers and iPhones through Jamf Pro.
- Use a remote support solution (BeyondTrust) for day-to-day troubleshooting.
- Set up and ship laptops to new employees and onboard them on their first day.
- Monitor and proactively manage antivirus protection solutions (Sophos).
- Organizational management of physical inventory and IT supplies in the London office.
- Support the IT Team in the continuous development and maintenance of system monitoring processes.
- Facilitate monthly All Staff Call meetings via Zoom in the London office.
- Help design and perform occasional staff IT training sessions.
- Occasional travel for yearly C40 events may be required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as the team needs.
Person specification:
- Demonstrable experience in supporting Macs and iPhones within an organisational setting.
- Experience with project management or being a member of a complex project team.
- Experience with helpdesk ticketing systems.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure.
- Experience with maintaining macOS and iOS devices at the enterprise level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage complex helpdesk tickets in a busy environment.
- Ability to have a flexible approach to problem-solving.
- Willingness to share ideas to improve procedures already in place.
- International experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Asana, Slack, Zoom and Jamf Pro, and/or similar services, desirable.
- Previous experience in the non-profit or governmental sector is desirable.
- Applicants must be based in London and work in the C40 London office a minimum of three days a week (or more if preferred).

- Paid Time Off: Full-time employees receive 35 days of paid time off annually, which includes all national holidays.
- Company Close-downs: In addition to the standard paid time off, C40 provides two non-contractual, non-statutory close-down weeks each year (mid-year and end-of-year) for a full break.
- Parental Leave: All employees are eligible for up to 52 weeks of parenting leave. The first 16 weeks are paid at 100% of the employee's current salary. Weeks 17 through 52 are unpaid by C40, unless payment is required by national law.
- Flexible Working: C40 supports flexible working arrangements to enhance work-life balance, provided they align with business requirements.
- Time off in Lieu (TOIL): Employees can take TOIL to recover following periods of excessive hours or travel in line with C40’s Toil Policy.
- Sick Leave: Entitlement to sick leave increases upon the successful completion of the employee's probation period.
- Employee Training: Training and development opportunities are available to all staff (excluding temporary staff and interns) after they have completed and passed their probation period.
- Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): Confidential services, such as counselling, are accessible for short-term support.
C40 offers additional benefits based on specific location requirements. This might include Private Pension Schemes and/or Private Health Insurance (where publicly funded healthcare is not available). Therefore, availability is determined on a country by country basis.
