This role provides critical support to the Network Team, ensuring reliable and optimised services across LAN, WAN, network security, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have recent educational or professional accreditation in network technologies and enterprise-scale networking, alongside experience with:
- Network security platforms
- Wireless and access control solutions
- Centralised network management
- Cloud-based networking (e.g., automation, SD-WAN, Zero Trust models)
- Infrastructure automation (e.g., scripting, Infrastructure as Code)
Candidates must also exhibit a broad understanding of IT department functions, enabling effective triage of tickets and cross-team collaboration. Successful applicants will balance ongoing operational responsibilities with modernisation efforts, fostering an environment where your technical skills and proactive attitude drive both stability and progress.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Maintenance & Support
- Monitor and optimise enterprise network environments for high availability, performance, scalability, and security across LAN/WAN, network security, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
- Deliver complex end-to-end solutions, including routing, switching, network security, and cloud connectivity—collaboratively meeting both business and technical objectives.
Incident Resolution & Escalation Leadership
- Serve as the key escalation point for complex network incidents, taking ownership to restore services effectively.
- Conduct deep root cause analysis (RCA), identify mitigations, and implement preventative measures to reduce future repeat incidents.
- Provide integrated troubleshooting, remediation coordination, and clear communication to stakeholders throughout the issue lifecycle.

Technical Leadership & Knowledge Sharing
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior peers, promoting best practices, upskilling, and resilient team culture.
Continuous Improvement & Project Delivery
- Balance business as usual (BAU) operations with continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring stability while driving modernisation and efficiency across the network estate.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Technical Expertise:
- Expert-level knowledge of:
- Enterprise routing (OSPF/BGP) and switching (Layer 2/3 L3)
- Network security solutions (firewalls, IPS, web filters, DLP)
- Cloud networking (e.g., AWS/Azure VPNs, IaaS, multi-cloud), including hybrid cloud workload optimisation
- Cisco architecture (e.g., SD-WAN,BLE, VSS/VPC)
- Hands-on expertise with advanced tools:
- Network automation, especially python/PowerShell scripting and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
- Wireshark/PacketTracer troubleshooting
- Wireless security solutions (e.g., EAP-PEAP, client connectivity)
Problem-Solving & Leadership:
- Proactive, analytical mindset, adept at diagnosing high-impact, disciplinary network incidents under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management—translates technical concepts for non-experts, collaborating effectively across vendors, leadership, and cross-team stakeholders.
- Experience defining and executing technical improvements through structured project delivery (e.g., documentation, risk controls).
Collaborative & Adaptive Culture:
- Commitment to continuous learning about evolving technologies, sharing insights, and implementing innovations for performance/security/scalability.
- Ability to adapt to onsite, remote, or hybrid environments and support flexible business demands, including non-standard (on-call) hours as required.
