IT Innovation Advisor
An opportunity has arisen for an IT Innovation Adviser to join a major UK professional services firm, supporting the design and delivery of digital products and innovation across the business and for its clients. This role sits within a central IT / Innovation function that partners closely with service lines (e.g. tax, audit, advisory) and business support teams to turn ideas into tangible digital solutions. You will help shape “the firm of the future” by driving innovation culture and taking new concepts from early-stage idea through to delivered product.
Key responsibilities: Drive innovation mindset and practical delivery across a c.8,000-strong organisation, working with stakeholders at all levels. Work with business areas to identify and scope new digital opportunities, assessing where products, platforms and emerging technologies can add value. Define and articulate benefits cases (short/long term, tangible/intangible) and help prioritise initiatives. Administer and promote the internal innovation platform, including setting up innovation challenges and managing idea pipelines. Support the Product Owner within Agile/Scrum delivery, liaising with internal and external development teams. Help ensure end‑to‑end product completeness – aligning business strategy, product specification, business case and technical requirements through to delivery. Partner with Business Relationship Managers to manage pipelines of product ideas, PoCs/prototypes and technology requests, supplying compelling content to extend innovation reach. Contribute to managing the firm’s innovation community, communicate product roadmaps and help generate and refine new product ideas. Help plan and deliver training and learning sessions to improve digital mindset, increase adoption of new tools and enhance client experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
