Jewellery Quarter Bullion – IT Manager
Location: Birmingham, Office-based
Contract: Full time, permanent contract (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: up to £60,000 depending on experience

Role Overview
We’re hiring an IT Manager to take ownership of the stability, security and performance of the company’s core IT systems and infrastructure.
Reporting to the Technology Director, this role will lead the management and continuous improvement of our office IT environment across on-prem servers, networks, office infrastructure and end-user systems. The role also has direct line management responsibility for an IT Support Specialist, focusing on workflow oversight and personal development.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a high-value, security-conscious environment, where reliability, system integrity and strong operational controls are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the company’s IT infrastructure including servers, networks, office infrastructure and end user systems
- Lead the day-to-day operation, performance and availability of all core systems and services
- Manage and develop the IT Support Specialist
- Manage and maintain local office infrastructure, including routers, switches, office Wi-Fi, CCTV and VoIP systems
- Maintain and improve monitoring, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes
- Oversee the hardware lifecycle for all end users, including laptop procurement, MDM provisioning, and secure on/offboarding
- Work closely with Technology, Finance and Operations teams to support business-critical systems
- Manage infrastructure upgrades, system improvements and technology projects
- Create and maintain documentation for systems architecture, processes and infrastructure controls
- Oversee patching, updates and system maintenance across infrastructure platforms
- Manage relationships with external IT suppliers, hosting providers and technology partners
- Support the business in maintaining compliance with relevant security standards and best practices
- Identify risks, vulnerabilities and operational improvements across infrastructure and security controls

Skills & Experience
- Strong experience managing IT infrastructure in a complex environment
- Experience managing Windows environments, using tools like Intune
- Experience with Microsoft 365 using Entra ID
- Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining VoIP/telephony systems
- Experience with corporate Wi-Fi and local network management
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (firewalls, VPNs, DNS, routing, etc.)
- Experience implementing role-based security controls
- Experience managing backup, disaster recovery and system monitoring solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems and infrastructure
- Ability to document systems and maintain clear operational processes
- High levels of integrity, accountability and attention to detail
- Experience working in e-commerce or high-value transactional environments
- Cybersecurity or infrastructure certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, CISSP) (desirable)
- Experience supporting Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001 or similar frameworks (desirable)
- Linux server administrator experience (desirable)
