IT Operations Engineer – Belfast

TL;DR: We’re looking for a hands-on IT Operations Engineer to help build secure, scalable internal IT at Cloudsmith. The ideal candidate is an operator-builder—comfortable managing day-to-day operations, enhancing systems, and refining processes to ensure scalable, secure, remote-first IT for a growing Series C company.

About Cloudsmith

Cloudsmith is building the operating system for the modern software supply chain. We power a global, fully managed, multi-tenant SaaS platform that helps organizations—from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises—secure, govern, and distribute software artifacts at scale.

Our platform supports 30+ formats and ecosystems, enabling secure CI/CD, developer workflows, security controls, compliance, and software distribution across languages, containers, and operating systems.

Recently, we raised our Series C to accelerate Cloudsmith 2.0, focusing on:

  • Deeper artifact intelligence
  • Stronger policy and provenance
  • Faster package-aware delivery
  • Infrastructure built for engineering teams
  • AI-driven software factory

By developers, for developers: We prioritise craft, architecture, and enterprise scale.

The Role

As an IT Operations Engineer, reporting into Security, you’ll collaborate with the IT Manager and share operational ownership with the Operations team. You’ll:

  • Run and improve systems sustaining Cloudsmith’s core operations, including:

    • Identity and access
    • Device management (Apple/Mac ecosystem)
    • SaaS tools
    • Collaboration platforms
    • Procurement
    • Provisioning
    • Patching
    • Support workflows
    • Audit evidence
  • Ensure IT is secure-by-default, scalable, and reliable for a remote-first, tech-driven, growth-stage company.

  • Automate repetitive tasks, enhance service quality, and provide occasional hands-on IT support where needed.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Administration

  • Manage core IT systems: identity, device lifecycle, collaboration tools, service desks, and SaaS administration.
  • Own and automate end-to-end Joiner-Mover-Leaver workflows across user access, identity, devices, asset provisioning, and licensing.
  • Support secure endpoint management via:
    • MDM/Intune/Jamf (focus on Apple ecosystem)
    • Encryption, patching, device posture checks, remote lock/wipe, and lifecycle controls.
  • Maintain access controls, role-based access, audit trails, and least-privilege practices.

Infrastructure & Security Compliance

  • Assisten with procurement, provisioning, inventory, and hardware/software lifecycle management.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage software licensing, renewals, and tracking.
  • Support IT audits, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning with Security & Operations teams.
  • Help gather technical evidence for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and EU AI Act compliance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
