About The Role
We are looking for an organised and motivated IT Procurement Assistant to join our IT team. You will play a key role in supporting the procurement and purchasing activities of the department, ensuring IT hardware, software, services and consumables are ordered, tracked and delivered efficiently.
Working closely with suppliers, Finance, IT Service Desk and wider business teams, you will support the smooth running of IT procurement processes while maintaining accurate records, delivering excellent service and identifying opportunities for improvement.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within IT procurement, supplier management and IT operations.
This role is based at our head office in Barton upon Humber.

Key Responsibilities:
- Raise and process IT purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Manage purchase orders from request through to delivery and invoice reconciliation.
- Obtain supplier quotations and ensure best value purchasing.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times and order queries.
- Support supplier relationship management and performance monitoring.
- Manage procurement requests through the IT ticketing system.
- Track order progress and keep stakeholders updated on delivery timescales.
- Ensure procurement activities follow company policies, procedures and financial controls.
- Support reporting, audits and procurement governance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and operational efficiency.
- Provide administrative support to the wider IT team, including hardware, software and licensing activities.
About You
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Comfortable using computer systems, databases and ticketing platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, administration or IT support would be advantageous.
- Experience with purchase order systems, supplier management or ITSM platforms would be beneficial.
- An understanding of IT hardware, software and procurement processes would be desirable.
