Overall Purpose of The Job
Role
In V.Group, the primary purpose of this IT Programme Manager role is to lead, oversee and ensure the successful delivery and management of our flagship software replatforming programme:
Our Marine ERP platform, ShipSure, is a market leader and of central importance to our V.Ships business. The re-platforming programme will provide new workflow and automation capabilities to enable V.’s continuing operating model evolution and deliver improvements in user experience for fleet managers and seafarers.
This IT Programme Manager will lead a cross-functional team (internal and third-party) to deliver this complex initiative that is key to realising organisational goals and delivering business value in the next 18 months to two years. This must be achieved within the agreed scope, quality and time and cost constraints – as defined up front.
Key Responsibilities And Tasks
Programme leadership across all phases and workstreams, allocating resources and measuring / monitoring progress to ensure overall delivery against plan. Effective management of risk, issues, constraints and dependencies Adherence to the defined governance and methodology, as well as ensuring effective budget management and forecasting, creation of quality documentation and artefacts and supporting, attending and running associated meetings as necessary Programme planning – defining scope, objectives, deliverables, controls, milestones and timelines for overall programme and each phase therein Executive & stakeholder engagement – leading regular interactions and reviews with executive sponsors and stakeholders to maintain alignment, as well producing regular programme communications, reports and briefings for stakeholders Ensuring comprehensive change management practices are embedded across programme initiatives Fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture through cross-functional team leadership, ensuring the availability of required skills and competencies across the team Vendor management – supervising the relationships with suppliers and subcontractors engaged within the programme, monitoring progress according to schedules

Essential
Education
Degree in computer science, information systems (or a related field), project management or general business management. Alternatively, equivalent IT experience Programme manager training and certification is desirable
Experience
Five or more years of experience in an upper-management role, preferably in programme management 6+ years’ relevant work experience, with demonstrable competency in programme management with a strong background in large and complex software delivery Experience in leading and managing programme / project teams and matrixed teams, including multiple third parties Proven ability to drive results and success in developing and leading teams Experience working in an agile environment is preferred Stakeholder management experience is a prerequisite Experience with project management methodologies, processes & tooling is preferred

Knowledge
Exceptional leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and influence others Strong project, programme and portfolio management expertise, including proficiency in various methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, PMBOK, PRINCE2) Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information, present to senior management and manage stakeholder expectations Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage time and tasks effectively Proficiency with the latest AI tooling and other emerging technologies, to automate reporting and other work Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to identify complex problems, interpret data, apply critical thinking and formulate solutions Comfortable with risk management, identification, evaluation and mitigation Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting and resource allocation A clear understanding and broad knowledge of V.Group, V.Ships and the shipping industry in general, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms Ability to plan for constant change and adapt to changes in the business environment Strong interpersonal relationships, including the ability to collaborate effectively, build positive relationships, and manage conflict within groups
