We are seeking a talented IT Project Engineer to deliver our Strategic Growth initiative, based at our Head Office in Blackburn with on-site support across locations nationwide.
About the Role
The IT Project Engineer will play a crucial role in:
- Designing and installing control networks
- Assisting the IT Infrastructure Manager in maintaining the ongoing operation of IT systems
- Providing onsite and remote technical support
- Guaranteeing meticulous system performance amid a fast-growing infrastructure
This is a dynamic opportunity to combine hands-on project execution with the thrill of contributing to pivotal UK Net Zero projects.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery & Support
- 1st & 2nd Line IT Troubleshooting
- Resolve technical incidents efficiently while maintaining system stability.
- Liaise with field controls teams and third-party suppliers to execute installations and upgrades.
- Onsite installment and configuration of IT solutions across UK-based projects.
- Managing and reporting on performance of Building Management Systems (BMS) IT infrastructure in partnership with controls.

Network Design & Technical Operations
- Network design based on tender specifications.
- Support design of VLAN’s, VPN’s and SDWAN environments.
- Update technical documentation and designs for future references.
- Coordinate scheduled upgrades and planned maintenance to prevent disruption.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work with internal teams, clients, and suppliers seamlessly.
- Conduct secure maintenance routines (including firewall management).
- Ensure adherence to Strategic and security policies and guidelines.
Flexible Pacing & Commitment
- Mechanisms to balance on-call duties with project-based commitments.
Education & Experience

IT certifications hold an advantage (preferably CompTIA’s stagniness or their Network+, Security+ qualifications).
- Non-essential, yet highly recommended.

Full UK Driving Licence for onsite support obligations.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential:
- Proficiency with Windows 11 End User Computes.
- Essential basic information security experience (minimum of 1-year tenencies).
- Firewall Knowledge: Cisco Meraki, Fortinet frameworks.
- Network Knowledge: Exposure to VLAN’s, VPN’s and Software Defined Wide Area Network (SDWAN) solutions.
- Understand of Security Authorisation fundamentals as per CompTIA Security+.
