IT Project Manager (Life Insurance)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join a leading insurance organisation on an initial 6-month contract. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate multiple infrastructure and technology migration projects, ensuring seamless delivery while minimising business disruption.
This role requires a pragmatic, hands-on Project Manager with proven experience delivering complex migration programmes within regulated environments, ideally insurance or wider financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and technology migration projects.
- Manage migration of on-premise file storage and network folders to enterprise shared drive and cloud-based solutions.
- Oversee physical hardware migration and decommissioning programmes, facilitating transitions from on-premise environments to cloud platforms.
- Drive shared drive and data migration initiatives, ensuring data integrity, security and business continuity.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Architecture, Service Management and third-party vendors.
- Manage project plans, RAID logs, governance forums, reporting and stakeholder communications.
- Work closely with business users to understand requirements and plan migration activities with minimal operational impact.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines, scope and budget.
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks, dependencies and issues proactively.
- Support change management and user adoption activities throughout migration programmes.

Essential Experience
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager within Insurance or Financial Services.
- Demonstrable experience delivering:
- On-premise folder and file share migrations to enterprise shared drive solutions.
- Infrastructure and data migration projects.
- Physical hardware migration and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Shared drive and data storage migrations.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, cloud technologies and enterprise environments.
- Experience managing multiple workstreams and senior stakeholder groups.
- Strong governance, budget management and reporting skills.
- Experience working within regulated environments.

Desirable Experience
- ServiceNow implementation, upgrade or migration experience.
- Experience working with Microsoft technologies including SharePoint, OneDrive and Azure.
- Knowledge of ITIL and Service Management best practices.
- Relevant Project Management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM or equivalent).
