Technical Project Manager – Core Platforms
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our UK Information Technology team.
This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Infrastructure, Network and Service Delivery projects across DP World UK, ensuring technical solutions are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with business, operational and security requirements.
The Technical Project Manager – Core Platforms leads initiatives from discovery and requirements definition through to planning, design, implementation, and post-deployment stabilisation.
Working closely with engineering teams, operational stakeholders, and external suppliers, the role plays a critical part in maintaining resilient and secure technology platforms that support 24/7 terminal operations across:
- DP World London Gateway
- DP World Southampton
The position is located at DP World Southampton, with regular travel required to DP World London Gateway, Stanford-le-Hope to support project delivery and alignment across both UK terminals.
How You Will Contribute

Lead the end-to-end delivery of Infrastructure, Network and Service Delivery projects, ensuring successful implementation against agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality targets.

Deliver projects involving:
- Network modernisation
- Switching and routing upgrades
- Fibre expansion
- Wireless infrastructure
- Firewall replacements
- Remote connectivity
- Data centre upgrades
- End-user service improvements

Manage the full project lifecycle, including:
- Initiation
- Requirements gathering
- Planning
- Design sign-off
- Execution
- Testing
- Deployment
- Hypercare
- Operational handover

Develop and maintain project governance documentation, including:
- Delivery plans
- RAID logs (Risks-Assumptions-Issues-Dependencies)
- Risk assessments
- Test strategies
- Cutover plans
- Transition-to-support artefacts

Ensure compliance with established governance processes and achieve required approvals relating to:
- Technical design
- Cybersecurity
- Testing
- Operational readiness

Coordinate closely with:
- Infrastructure teams
- Network Engineering
- Service Delivery
- Cyber Security
- Operational Technology teams
To ensure solutions meet resilience, performance, and availability requirements.

Manage:
- Project scope
- Schedules
- Dependencies
- Change requests
Escalating risks and delivery challenges with clear recommendations and mitigation plans.

Support secure-by-design delivery principles, working with Cyber Security teams to address:
- Vulnerabilities
- Access controls
- Patching requirements
- Security standards

Coordinate user acceptance testing, including:
- Performance testing
- Failover testing
- Operational readiness activities
Prior to go-live.

Lead relationships with third-party suppliers and service providers, ensuring:
- Delivery commitments
- Contractual obligations
- Service levels are effectively managed

Provide regular project reporting and status updates to:
- Sponsors
- Senior stakeholders
Highlighting:
- Progress
- Risks
- Decisions
- Business impacts

Facilitate:
- Project workshops
- Design reviews
- Deployment readiness meetings
- Stakeholder forums
To maintain delivery momentum and alignment.

Support UK participation in regional and global technology initiatives where local sites form part of broader infrastructure and platform deployment programs.
What You Will Bring

Experience delivering IT Infrastructure, Network or Service Delivery projects in complex technical environments.

Demonstrable experience managing the full project lifecycle from:
- Initiation and planning
- Through to implementation, testing, and operational handover

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in:
- IT
- Networking
- Infrastructure
- Computing
- Related discipline

OR equivalent practical experience

Project Management certification or training highly desirable, such as:
- PRINCE2
- APM
- AgilePM
- PMP
- PMBOK
- Or equivalent

ITIL Foundation certification advantageous

Relevant vendor or technology certifications would be beneficial, including:
- Cisco
- CompTIA Network+
- Azure Fundamentals
