Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and deliver a portfolio of technology, infrastructure, cyber security and business transformation projects across the Sumer Group.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through to delivery, working closely with technical teams, third-party suppliers, business stakeholders and senior leadership. Projects will range from cloud migrations and cyber security initiatives to acquisitions, systems integrations and business application deployments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and commercially aware project manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced, growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent IT projects across the Sumer Group.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations.
- Lead project governance activities including status reporting, RAID management and steering group updates.
- Coordinate internal technical teams, third-party suppliers and business stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions and project planning meetings.
- Manage project risks, dependencies and issues through to resolution.
- Support technology integration activities relating to acquisitions and onboarding of new firms.
- Oversee infrastructure, cloud, cyber security and business application projects.
- Ensure appropriate change management and user adoption activities are completed.
- Produce project documentation including business cases, project charters, implementation plans and post-project reviews.
- Track project benefits and support successful handover into operational support teams.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of project management standards, templates and governance processes.

Key Project Areas The role may involve delivering projects such as:
- Microsoft 365 and Azure initiatives.
- Cyber security programmes including MDR, SIEM, security awareness and vulnerability management.
- Email security and compliance platforms.
- Identity and access management projects.
- Infrastructure modernisation and cloud transformation.
- Business application deployments and integrations.
- Merger and acquisition technology onboarding activities.
- Network and connectivity improvements.
- End-user computing and workplace technology projects.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
- Proven experience delivering IT projects within a medium or large organisation.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and hybrid approaches.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and managed service providers.
- Strong planning, organisational and risk management skills.
- Experience producing executive-level reporting and presentations.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business language.

Desirable
- Experience within professional services, accountancy, legal or financial services organisations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure and Entra ID.
- Experience delivering cyber security projects.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions or business integrations.
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM, PMP or equivalent certification.
- Familiarity with ITIL principles.
