IT Project Service Manager
Project Delivery and Execution Lead – Regional WMS Implementation (Monday to Friday: 08:30 to 17:00, with a 30-minute unpaid break)
About the Role
Lead regional WMS (Warehouse Management System) implementation and migration projects from initiation to go-live, ensuring delivery meets scope, timeline, cost, and quality standards. Drive project execution that balances standardization, customer needs, and operational feasibility while maintaining accountability and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
- Translate portfolio and project objectives into structured execution plans, milestones, and commitments.
- Proactively manage risks, dependencies, issues, and escalations with timely interventions and sound decision-making.
- Safeguard delivery quality by tracking progress, bottlenecks, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Ensure projects remain pragmatic, outcome-focused, and feasible for broader operations.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage a team of functional and technical consultants within the RIC (Regional Implementation Centre) structure.
- Align resource allocation with project priorities, capacity, and competencies, ensuring delivery commitments are met.
- Drive performance accountability, behaviours, and high-performing cultures.
- Provide coaching, feedback, performance evaluations, and development guidance.
- Identify skill gaps, experience deficits, and succession planning needs.
Portfolio, Demand & Capacity Management
- Maintain an up-to-date regional project pipeline with clear visibility on demand, status, and capacity.
- Translate incoming business demands into realistic planning scenarios, aligning with the Head of RIC NW.
- Create transparency on project workload, consultant utilisation, and trade-offs to support governance decisions.
- Support regional planning cycles and master planning processes.

Collaboration with WMS Architect
- Work closely with the WMS Architect to ensure solution designs are feasible, controlled, and executable.
- Bridge the gap between architecture, design, and implementation, addressing risks and ambiguities collaboratively.
- Maintain a balance between design governance and delivery outcomes.
Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
- Act as the key regional IT counterpart for cross-functional stakeholders (countries, WMS Business Development, Engineering, Group IT, BY Competence Centre).
- Build transparent governance and escalation paths for critical decisions.
- Represent project delivery perspectives in cross-functional discussions, ensuring capacity, risks, and readiness are addressed.
Migration & Transformation Delivery
- Lead migration projects from legacy/sunset systems to WMS platforms, ensuring structured and repeatable execution.
- Enforce disciplined preparation, testing, cut-over, and stabilisation phases.
- Foster predictability and scalability in transformation programs while minimising technical debt.
Governance & Standards
- Uphold Rhenus governance principles, methodologies, tools (e.g., JIRA), and reporting standards.
- Embed structured execution, controls, and transparency across regional projects.
- Escalate structural risks proactively to leadership.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance delivery predictability, efficiency, and maturity.
- Professionalise the regional project services function through standardization and process refinement.
- Work with architects and stakeholders to align delivery effectiveness with business value.
Support to Business Development
- GuideBusiness Development in feasible customer solutions, delivery timelines, and risks.
- Ensure project proposals remain realistic and scalable while aligning with internal capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience
Technical & Functional Expertise
- University degree or equivalent in IT, logistics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of IT project delivery experience, preferably in:
- WMS, logistics, warehouse automation, or complex application environments
- Implementation, migration, or transformation project environments
- Strong understanding of business process-IT integration, system dependencies, and operational execution.
- Proficiency in stakeholder management across business, IT, and management levels.
Leadership & Team Management
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams, performing performance coaching, and resource allocation.
- Capability to operate in matrix organisations and multi-country setups.
Soft Skills
- Resilience, adaptability, and crisis management expertise.
- Fluent English proficiency with intercultural awareness.
