Permanent People are recruiting on behalf of an established, successful, and thriving recruitment business that offers a mature, professional environment and one of the top 5% commission schemes in the UK. The company employs 30+ people across the UK and is well known for its innovation and long-term relationships with both clients and candidates.
The business operates with a refreshing flat structure, where Directors remain hands-on with sales calls and delivery. They do not manage performance through rigid KPIs; instead, recruiters are given full autonomy to run their desk in a way that works for them, with a clear focus on outcomes and results.
We have exciting opportunities available within their vibrant Birmingham office.
The Role:
You will be working within the Technology recruitment sector, building long-term, positive relationships with both clients and candidates. This will involve advertising roles, sourcing and engaging high-quality talent for national clients, and proactively identifying and developing new client relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
