IT Security Analyst

About the Role Do you want to play a hands-on role within a rapidly growing, innovative company—keeping our environment secure, stable, and continuously improving?

We’re looking for an IT Security Analyst to join our growing tech function. This is very much a doer role: you’ll dive into the details—monitoring alerts, investigating incidents, refining detections—but also drive improvement over time. That could involve optimising Microsoft Sentinel, tightening controls in Defender, or extracting more value from Purview.

You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and the SOC, taking ownership of key aspects of our security operations—not just reacting to issues but anticipating them, reducing unnecessary noise, and fostering a more proactive stance.

There’s also room to expand your expertise: alongside core SecOps work, you’ll engage in data protection (Purview, DLP, sensitivity labelling), compliance, and assurance initiatives across the business.

Who You Are

At Cooper Parry, we thrive on collective effort. We value individuals who embrace growth—whether as juniors or senior leaders—and challenge themselves to step outside their comfort zones. A fundamental principle? "Be nice." Simple, but essential to our culture.

We need someone who:

  • thrives in a hands-on security operations environment;
  • builds familiarity with Microsoft SecOps tooling (Defender, Sentinel, Purview);
  • starts broadening into data protection and governance beyond core SecOps; and
  • influences how things are done—through thoughtful improvements, not just checklists.

You’ll contribute to a wide range of responsibilities, including:

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations & Incident Response

  • Monitor and triage alerts in Microsoft Defender and Sentinel.
  • Investigate incidents by identifying root causes, not just symptoms.
  • Collaborate with the SOC to refine detection and reduce false positives.
  • Document findings and update playbooks/procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
