Role Summary
The IMOS & Freight Test Manager is accountable for the end-to-end testing strategy, governance, and delivery across a large-scale IMOS implementation, including vendor IMOS functionality and bespoke, custom-built components delivered alongside the core platform.
The role operates at programme leadership level, owning test outcomes, business confidence, and go-live readiness across chartering, freight, voyage execution, bunkers, financial settlement, and reporting processes. The Test Manager ensures that custom-built functionality integrates seamlessly with IMOS, behaves as intended under real operational conditions, and does not introduce unmanaged risk at go-live.
This role acts as a senior counterweight to delivery pressure, providing evidence-based quality and risk assurance to programme leadership and business sponsors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key Responsibilities
· Test Strategy & Programme Governance: Define and own the programme-wide test strategy covering IMOS core configuration, custom-built functionality, system, integration, regression, UAT, and non-functional testing. Establish test governance, entry/exit criteria, acceptance standards, and go/no-go decision points, aligned to programme milestones and cutover planning
· Large-Scale UAT: Work closely with the vendor test manager (Veson) and the business focal for business-owned UAT at scale across chartering, voyage estimation and execution, bunker management, and freight economics. Ensure scenarios reflect true end-to-end operational reality, including IMOS and custom-build interactions, and own sign-off and residual risk articulation
· Custom-Built Functionality Assurance: Maintain a clear inventory of bespoke functionality. Define fit-for-purpose test approaches ensuring adequate evidence exists and that custom components are fully embedded into end-to-end testing and UAT. Own testing where custom functionality extends or overrides IMOS standard behaviour
· Integration & End-to-End Assurance: Own testing across the full IMOS ecosystem, including CTRM/ETRM, financial, settlement, reporting, and data integrations. Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, timing, and control across IMOS, custom build, and downstream systems
