About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Engineer to join our client's team in Central London. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled professional to provide in-person technical support to professional services clients primarily located in London Bridge and nearby areas. As the onsite IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the IT infrastructure of your assigned clients, ensuring their daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will be vital in resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly while fostering strong relationships with clients through excellent communication and service delivery.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a client-facing environment, enjoy immediate problem-solving, and possess a proactive attitude towards maintaining IT systems. Qualifications
The successful candidate will have proven experience as an IT Support Engineer or in a similar onsite support role, demonstrating strong expertise in Windows environments and Microsoft technologies. In-depth knowledge of on-premises Active Directory domains, Microsoft 365 (including Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint), and networking principles is essential. Candidates should possess excellent troubleshooting skills for hardware (desktops, laptops, peripherals) and software issues, along with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients. A self-motivated approach, the ability to work independently, and a proactive mindset are crucial for success in this role.
Relevant degrees or industry-recognized certifications such as Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), CompTIA A+, or Network+ are highly desirable and will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, in-person support to resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
- Manage and troubleshoot Windows networks, including on-premises Active Directory (AD) domains, user accounts, and permissions.
- Support and maintain Microsoft 365 services such as email, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
- Assist users with desktop/laptop setups, printer configurations, connectivity issues, and software installations, ensuring user satisfaction.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks to optimize system performance, including updates, patches, and hardware checks.
- Engage directly with clients to understand their IT needs, explain technical solutions clearly, and build lasting professional relationships.
- Escalate complex issues to remote support teams when necessary, while taking ownership of the resolution process onsite.
- Document all support activities, track tickets accurately, and contribute to knowledge bases to enhance service quality and team efficiency.
