IT Support Engineer
Job Title: IT Support Engineer
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 PLUS 28 Days Holiday rising with service, Private Pension, Private Healthcare, Company Sick Pay and more!
We’re hiring an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a well-established engineering business that values robust infrastructure and reliable support. This role is ideal for someone confident working across both office and production environments and eager to play a key role in a growing IT function.
You’ll act as a key escalation point for support issues and contribute to systems stability across operational teams.
Responsibilities
Provide 2nd line IT support across production, office, and remote users Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues Maintain and manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP Support virtualised environments using VMWare and Hyper-V Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, and routers Assist with patching, upgrades, and general infrastructure projects Maintain accurate documentation for all technical procedures and changes Work closely with operations teams to ensure minimal downtime and high system performance

Requirements
Proven experience in a 2nd line IT support role Strong technical knowledge of Windows Server and virtualisation platforms Hands-on experience with network devices (firewalls, switches, routers) Confident managing Active Directory environments Excellent troubleshooting skills and a structured approach to issue resolution
