About The Role

The IT Support Engineer (Field Based) role at Grace May offers a unique opportunity to work independently while being part of a supportive technical team. This position is home-based, primarily covering London and Greater London, and involves providing essential technical support to a diverse range of business customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring that clients receive timely and effective solutions. The role involves a mix of remote assistance and onsite visits, allowing for a varied and engaging work environment. Qualifications

Grace May is looking for candidates with a solid foundation in IT support, particularly those who have experience with Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and active directory management. A full UK driving license is essential to facilitate onsite visits. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently from home. Relevant certifications such as ITIL or CompTIA are advantageous but not mandatory. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a customer-focused mindset, and a desire to continuously develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to business customers, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems to minimize downtime.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Supporting and managing Microsoft 365 environments, including user account management and permissions.
  • Managing user accounts and permissions within Active Directory to ensure security and compliance.
  • Troubleshooting Windows operating systems and business applications to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Visiting customer sites to resolve technical challenges and carry out planned maintenance or upgrades.
  • Assisting with IT infrastructure installations, upgrades, and technology projects to enhance client systems.
  • Setting up new users, devices, and workstations to ensure seamless onboarding processes.
  • Adhering to service level agreements while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients through effective communication and technical expertise.
