1st Line Support Engineer

Location: Bath (Hybrid) Salary: Up to £27,000

About the Role

Are you looking to build your IT career in a modern, technology-driven environment?

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused 1st Line IT Support Analyst to join a growing IT team. This opportunity allows you to exceed traditional helpdesk support, gaining expertise in:

  • Microsoft 365
  • Cloud technologies
  • IT security
  • Automation
  • AI-driven processes

You will be the primary point of contact for IT support across the business, assisting users with technical issues while ensuring systems remain secure, efficient, and well-managed.


Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st line support via:
    • Service desk
    • Microsoft Teams
    • In-person engagements
  • Manage and maintain:
    • User accounts
    • Permissions
    • Access across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure DevOps
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities:
    • Account creation
    • Device setup
  • Troubleshoot:
    • Hardware issues
    • Software issues
    • User-related technical problems
  • Triaging alerts from:
    • Azure Monitor
    • Microsoft Defender
  • Maintain records for:
    • IT assets
    • Software licensing
    • Service desk logs
  • Provide remote IT support and customer service excellence
  • Collaborate with an AI-assisted ticketing system to enhance effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities for:
    • Process automation
    • Efficiency improvements

Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong passion for technology and customer support
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (including Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online)
  • Ability to be organised, detail-oriented, and manage multiple priorities
  • Solid understanding of IT support fundamentals and security best practices

  • Previous IT support or service desk experience
  • Knowledge of:
    • Entra ID (Azure AD)
    • Endpoint management
    • Networking fundamentals
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes
  • Interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies
