1st Line Support Engineer
Location: Bath (Hybrid) Salary: Up to £27,000
About the Role
Are you looking to build your IT career in a modern, technology-driven environment?
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused 1st Line IT Support Analyst to join a growing IT team. This opportunity allows you to exceed traditional helpdesk support, gaining expertise in:
- Microsoft 365
- Cloud technologies
- IT security
- Automation
- AI-driven processes
You will be the primary point of contact for IT support across the business, assisting users with technical issues while ensuring systems remain secure, efficient, and well-managed.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1st line support via:
- Service desk
- Microsoft Teams
- In-person engagements
- Manage and maintain:
- User accounts
- Permissions
- Access across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure DevOps
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities:
- Account creation
- Device setup
- Troubleshoot:
- Hardware issues
- Software issues
- User-related technical problems
- Triaging alerts from:
- Azure Monitor
- Microsoft Defender
- Maintain records for:
- IT assets
- Software licensing
- Service desk logs
- Provide remote IT support and customer service excellence
- Collaborate with an AI-assisted ticketing system to enhance effectiveness
- Identify opportunities for:
- Process automation
- Efficiency improvements

Requirements
Essential:
- Strong passion for technology and customer support
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (including Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online)
- Ability to be organised, detail-oriented, and manage multiple priorities
- Solid understanding of IT support fundamentals and security best practices

Nice to Have:
- Previous IT support or service desk experience
- Knowledge of:
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Endpoint management
- Networking fundamentals
- Familiarity with ITIL processes
- Interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies
