IT Support & Security Administration Engineer Intern

InstaDeep is seeking an IT Support & Security Administration Engineer Intern to join our IT team in London, England.

This internship is an opportunity to gain practical experience in enterprise IT support within a fast-growing, AI-first company operating across multiple international sites. You will support endpoint preparation, user onboarding and offboarding, day-to-day ticket handling, device setup, access support, and operational IT tasks under the guidance of the Global IT team.

The role is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on technical support, structured problem solving, and helping users work effectively and securely. You will gain exposure to modern workplace technologies, identity and access processes, endpoint management, compliance evidence, and IT service management practices.


Role Overview

  • Supports endpoint preparation, user onboarding and offboarding, day-to-day ticket handling, device setup, access support, and operational IT tasks under the guidance of the Global IT team.

  • Gains exposure to modern workplace technologies, identity and access processes, endpoint management, compliance evidence, and IT service management practices.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assisting with endpoint preparation, device setup, and user equipment handover.
  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding tasks for employees and contractors.
  • Helping resolve user support tickets, break-fix requests, and routine IT issues.
  • Supporting device, account, and access administration processes.
  • Helping maintain accurate device, asset, and ticket records.
  • Supporting evidence-friendly IT processes for access, device status, and operational controls.
  • Assisting with overflow ticket handling during busy periods or site-support peaks.
  • Supporting London-based users while coordinating with IT colleagues across other sites.
  • Following documented procedures for access, endpoint support, escalation, and exception handling.
  • Contributing to improvements in internal IT support documentation and knowledge-base articles.

Typical Deliverables

  • Completed onboarding and offboarding support tasks.

  • Improvements to repeatable support procedures.
  • Design, deployment, and operation of a leading-edge ICT and SSLDC Security stack supporting a highly innovative and AI-first business.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Currently studying, recently graduated, or early in your career in IT, computer science, cybersecurity, systems administration, networking, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of laptops, operating systems, user accounts, networks, and common productivity tools.
  • Interest in endpoint support, user support, and IT service management.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow structured processes.
  • Good communication skills and a user-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work reliably as part of a team and ask for help when needed.
  • Availability to work from London for the duration of the internship.
  • Right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting macOS, Windows, or Linux endpoints.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Jira, or similar workplace platforms.
  • Exposure to identity and access management concepts such as SSO, MFA, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Basic understanding of IT security practices, such as least privilege, secure device handling, and access control.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, asset inventories, or device-management tools.
  • Interest in ITIL, ITSM, networking, endpoint management, or cybersecurity.
  • Interest in the design, deployment, and operational support of leading-edge Agentic AI security guardrails.
