About The Role

We are seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to join our client’s dedicated team based in Cullen, NE Scotland. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and supporting the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operational workflows and minimizing downtime. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an IT professional looking to develop their career within a supportive environment that values technical expertise and customer service excellence. The position is initially part-time, with the potential to progress to full-time hours, depending on business requirements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in IT support, with relevant experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Basic knowledge of PC hardware setup, network configurations, and backup solutions is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, a professional approach, and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving. Prior experience working with small to medium-sized businesses will be advantageous. A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is crucial, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Candidates must be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Cullen, NE Scotland, as some on-site work will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to users, addressing support queries either on-site, via phone, or email, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service, adhering to all service management principles to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Assist with customer implementations remotely or on-site, ensuring smooth deployment and integration of IT solutions.
  • Take ownership of user problems, demonstrating a proactive approach to resolving issues and preventing recurrence.
  • Respond to client inquiries and troubleshoot hardware or software problems efficiently.
  • Support users by providing training and advice on the use of computer equipment and software applications.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior team members and collaborate to find effective solutions.
  • Document support activities accurately and maintain records of troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices to enhance support quality and efficiency.
