Role Description

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Officer to provide technical support, maintain IT systems, and ensure the reliable operation of the organization's technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering first-line and second-line technical assistance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end users, and contributing to the efficient delivery of IT services.

The IT Support Officer will assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of computer systems, operating systems, software applications, network devices, and peripheral equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality technical support while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to technical support requests
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network, and system issues
  • Configuring user accounts and devices
  • Installing software updates
  • Maintaining IT equipment
  • Documenting support activities

The role also involves:

  • Monitoring system performance
  • Supporting cybersecurity best practices
  • Maintaining IT asset inventories
  • Assisting with system upgrades

The IT Support Officer will collaborate closely with IT administrators, system engineers, security teams, vendors, and business users to resolve technical issues and improve IT service delivery. Responsibilities include:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and IT support principles.
  • Knowledge of Windows, macOS, Linux, and common productivity software environments.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN, and network troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of user account management, system configuration, device management, and IT asset administration.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, endpoint protection, access control, and data security principles.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, remote support tools, and IT service management concepts is preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear technical guidance to users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple support requests effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies, IT support tools, and industry best practices.
  • Professional attitude with a strong customer service mindset, integrity, and dedication to delivering high-quality technical support.
