About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Specialist to join the internal technology team of one of Bedford's leading software companies. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity for an IT professional who is passionate about problem-solving and eager to contribute to impactful projects that enhance the company's IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide 1st and 2nd line support to colleagues across various departments, ensuring smooth operation of all technology systems. Beyond routine support, this role involves active participation in modernizing infrastructure, improving security protocols, and deploying new technologies to future-proof the organization’s IT environment.
Based in Bedford, this position offers a hybrid working arrangement with 1-2 days on-site per week, providing flexibility while maintaining close collaboration with the internal IT team. Qualifications
- Relevant experience in IT support, particularly in 1st and 2nd line roles.
- A strong understanding of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Azure Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and endpoint management tools is highly desirable.
- Solid networking skills, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Hardware deployment and troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and professional growth.
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
Responsibilities
- Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to internal users, resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
- Building, deploying, and configuring Windows devices to meet organizational standards.
- Supporting Microsoft 365 applications, Active Directory, and Azure Entra ID to ensure seamless user access and security.
- Managing endpoint devices through Microsoft Intune and other management tools.
- Participating in infrastructure improvement initiatives and IT projects to modernize and optimize systems.
- Supporting networking components, servers, and office technology to maintain operational stability.
- Assisting in enhancing security measures, ensuring compliance, and increasing system resilience.
- Supporting hardware installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting hardware issues as they arise.
- Contributing to data centre activities and hardware management.
- Adhering to ITIL best practices to ensure standardized and efficient IT service management.
- Collaborating with the internal IT team to share knowledge, develop solutions, and implement best practices.
