IT Support Technician
IT Support Technician – Navantia UK
Navantia UK is a new force in British industry, supporting the UK’s defence, energy and maritime ambitions by creating state-of-the-art sovereign defence capabilities, investing in UK industrial modernisation, and bolstering national energy security. As a subsidiary of Navantia SA (a Spanish state-owned company with over 300 years of naval shipbuilding history), Navantia UK acquired Harland & Wolff in January 2025, combining their legacy facilities at Belfast, Appledore, Methil and Arnish with global expertise. This positions them to strengthen UK defence, maritime and energy industries, driving jobs and economic growth across the nation.
About the Role
Our IT Support team ensures smooth technological operations for the business. We focus on understanding employees’ and stakeholders’ needs while collaborating with the Technology and Security teams to deliver practical, reliable, and efficient IT solutions.
Key Goals:
- Provide first-line IT user support
- Diagnose and resolve basic IT issues, escalating complex problems
- Efficiently implement T&S policies and processes in Business/Area units

Main Duties
- Act as the primary IT contact via phone, email, and ticketing systems
- Support hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Install, configure, and maintain standard applications and operating systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues within SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
- Escalate unresolved tickets to Level 2/3 support teams as required
- Maintain accurate IT records in the ticketing system
- Assist with user account management (password resets, permissions)
- Support new employee onboarding (device setup, account provisioning)
- Adhere to IT policies, procedures, and security best practices
Requirements
- Proven IT support experience in a high-volume office environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of supporting PCs, laptops, printers, and networking hardware
- Experience with MS Windows 10/11 (configuration, troubleshooting)
- Customer-focused mindset with a helping attitude
- BPSS security clearance (applicable to all candidates post-onboarding)
