IT Support Technician

Location: Fleet, Hampshire Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum Working Pattern: Full-time, office-based (5 days per week)

Please note: This is a fully office-based role located in our Fleet office. Hybrid or remote working is not available for this position.

About the Role

Are you an IT Support professional who enjoys solving technical problems and helping people get the most from their technology?

We're looking for an IT Support Technician to join our internal IT team, supporting employees across our Microsoft 365 and Azure environment. You'll be the first point of contact for day-to-day IT support, ensuring colleagues have the tools, access, and technical assistance they need to work effectively.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in a service desk, helpdesk, or internal IT support environment who is looking to further develop their skills in Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoint management, and IT projects.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of issues from diagnosis through to resolution while gaining exposure to a modern, cloud-based IT environment.

What You will Be Doing

Provide First-Line IT Support

  • Respond to support requests and troubleshoot hardware, software, and access-related issues
  • Resolve the majority of day-to-day technical issues independently
  • Escalate more complex infrastructure and system issues where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, requests, and resolutions

Manage User Onboarding and Offboarding

  • Set up user accounts, permissions, and devices for new starters
  • Support employee onboarding to ensure a smooth first-day experience
  • Manage offboarding processes, including account deactivation and equipment returns
  • Maintain accurate IT asset records and inventory

Support Workplace Technology

  • Configure and deploy laptops and user devices
  • Support meeting room technology and collaboration tools
  • Assist with workspace moves and office technology setups
  • Ensure end-user devices remain secure, updated, and operational

Support Microsoft 365 and Azure Environments

  • Assist with administration of Microsoft 365 services
  • Manage user accounts, licences, groups, and permissions
  • Support Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) user administration
  • Assist with device management and access controls

Contribute to IT Improvements

  • Support IT projects, upgrades, and technology rollouts
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements
  • Contribute to process documentation and knowledge sharing
  • Help improve the overall employee technology experience

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • 1–3 years' experience providing IT support in a service desk, helpdesk, or internal IT environment
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows devices, Microsoft 365 applications, and user access issues
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, including user account management and licensing
  • Basic Azure or Entra ID user administration experience
  • Experience using ticketing systems and documenting support requests
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage issues through to resolution
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Intune or endpoint management solutions
  • Exposure to Azure administration
  • Experience supporting meeting room technology
  • Basic PowerShell knowledge
  • Experience working within a cloud-first environment
