##.cloud-first IT Systems Administrator – London (hybrid)
Location: London (hybrid, 3 to 5 days on-site) Salary: £40,000–£75,000 Clearance: Must hold, or be eligible for, UK security clearance
About the Role
A hands-on role running the day-to-day IT for a small, regulated, security-sensitive organisation. The IT estate is cloud-first, comprising Microsoft 365 and self-hosted services on AWS.
You will own the operational estate end-to-end, including:
- Microsoft 365 and identity management
- End-user devices (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS)
- Office network infrastructure
- Frontline support
While the AWS platform is managed by the platform team, you will be the service administrator (not server) for these systems. Strategic direction, budgets, risk, policy, compliance, and vendor selection lie with the CIO. Your focus is on ensuring reliable, secure operations.
Responsibilities
Support and Operations
- Serve as the first point of contact for IT issues and requests.
- Resolve L1–L2 incidents independently, escalating only when necessary.
- Manage incident and service request queues: log, prioritise, close, and update users.
- Maintain current operational documentation and asset records.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
