IT Systems Administrator
Salary: £33,000 - £38,000
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Hybrid working (office based in Oswestry) – typically 2 days in the office per week
Support Technology That Keeps Practice Plan Running
Practice Plan, part of the Wesleyan Group, helps dental practices across the UK build stable, recurring income through patient membership plans. Our IT team plays a vital role in ensuring colleagues have secure, reliable and effective technology to support our customers and business operations.
If you're an experienced Systems Administrator who enjoys infrastructure, project work and solving complex technical challenges, this is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team and play a key role in supporting and improving our technology environment.
Make a Difference in IT Operations
The IT team provides secure, reliable and effective technology services that support colleagues across Practice Plan and the wider Wesleyan Group. The team plays a key role in maintaining critical infrastructure, supporting business operations and delivering technology improvements that enhance performance, security and user experience.
This role combines infrastructure support, technical problem solving and project delivery, offering the opportunity to work across a broad technology estate while contributing to Practice Plan's ongoing cloud-first strategy.
Your Impact
Here's how you'll make a difference:
- Lead and support the delivery of infrastructure and technology projects, helping drive improvements across systems, services and platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, acting as a key escalation point within the IT team.
- Maintain and optimise core IT infrastructure, ensuring high levels of availability, security and performance across the business.
- Support the ongoing development of technology standards, processes and controls, helping strengthen operational resilience and efficiency.
- Contribute to Practice Plan's cloud-first strategy, identifying opportunities to enhance systems, services and ways of working.

What You'll Bring
- You're a curious and proactive IT professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems and delivering reliable technology solutions.
- Proven experience supporting and administering Microsoft infrastructure technologies, including Active Directory, Entra ID and Windows Server environments.
- Strong knowledge of networking principles including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, switching and firewall technologies.
- Experience working with infrastructure technologies including virtualisation, backup solutions and cloud services, ideally Azure.
- Demonstrable experience supporting or delivering infrastructure and systems projects within a business environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and explain technical concepts clearly.
- A passion for technology and continuous learning, with the adaptability to embrace new tools, systems and ways of working.
