IT Systems Cyber Security Lead (Contract)

*IT Systems Cyber Security Lead – Contract (3-6 Months)

Location: Leading manufacturing business (location flexible via contract) Contract Type: Initial fixed-term

A hands-on, high-impact role to take ownership of cyber security and compliance for a forward-thinking manufacturing organisation. Drive progress towards Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 while embedding best practice into daily operations.

About the Role

You’ll act as the go-to security specialist across IT infrastructure, operations, leadership, and third-party providers—working collaboratively to enhance security standards in a live 24/7 production environment.

This isn’t a desk job; it’s practical delivery with security leadership. Your expertise will ensure cyber security is woven into business as usual (BAU) IT operations, change processes, and compliance initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead certification readiness: Deliver preparation for Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, and ISO 27001 certification.
  • Risk assessment & remediation: Audit the current IT environment to identify security risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps, and implement tailored improvements across infrastructure, systems and processes.
  • Operational security embedding: Integrate security best practice into day-to-day IT operations, change control, and support processes—ensuring a seamless balance between security and operations.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner closely with infrastructure, support teams, leadership, and external technology partners to drive standards.
  • Awareness & upskilling: Raise awareness across the business, from technical teams to non-techerbal stakeholders, fostering a security-conscious culture.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Communicate security requirements to customers, auditors, and senior leadership, translating technical risks into clear business actions.
  • Incident & vulnerability management: Support incident response planning, vulnerability management, and risk remediation.
  • Threat landscape monitoring: Stay ahead of evolving threats, adapting strategy to align security measures with real-world risks.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
