About The Role
We are seeking experienced IT Systems Engineers to join our engineering capability at Leidos, working in collaboration with our partner, Hackajob. The successful candidates will possess a comprehensive understanding of systems engineering principles, with prior experience in integrating and accepting software products from various suppliers. This role involves working closely with customers and suppliers throughout the full lifecycle of systems engineering activities, with a particular focus on low-level system design. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to complex projects that require meticulous planning, coordination, and technical expertise. The role is primarily remote, with periodic visits to our Farnborough office and customer sites, offering flexibility and a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of proven experience in a systems engineering role within IT or software systems. Familiarity with systems engineering frameworks such as ICOSE, NAF, DODAF, MODAF, or MBSE is essential. A solid understanding of both hardware and software components used in IT systems, along with experience working within Agile and Waterfall delivery models, is required. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. A bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience will also be considered. Proficiency with system modeling tools such as SysML, UML, Cameo, or Archimate is advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) to ensure alignment with project requirements and design artifacts.
- Update design documents and artifacts to accurately reflect the RVTM, ensuring traceability and consistency across project documentation.
- Collaborate with testing teams to review requirements against test cases and acceptance criteria, identify gaps, propose solutions, and manage exceptions and mitigations.
- Define, document, and obtain stakeholder approval for acceptance criteria, ensuring clarity and shared understanding of system deliverables.
- Support the definition and design of system interfaces, ensuring seamless integration of hardware, software, and network components.
- Implement version control for all relevant systems engineering artifacts and interfaces to maintain integrity and traceability.
- Document and manage the program's V-Model activities and artifacts, liaising with delivery team leads to ensure compliance and progress.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the integration of various system components, ensuring interoperability and performance.
- Develop and document data flow diagrams and data matrices to visualize system architecture and data interactions.
- Contribute to the Systems Concept of Operations document by defining processes and documenting system behaviors and interactions.
- Track project progress, dependencies, and deliverables, providing regular updates and presentations to stakeholders.
- Review and update the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) as needed to reflect project changes and ensure alignment with best practices.
- Document engineering management and governance processes, ensuring adherence to standards and facilitating continuous improvement.
