About The Role
We are seeking experienced IT Systems Engineers to join our engineering capability at Leidos, collaborating with our partner Hackajob. The successful candidates will possess a comprehensive understanding of systems engineering principles and have prior experience in integrating software products from suppliers. This role involves working closely with customers and suppliers to execute systems engineering activities throughout the entire lifecycle, with a particular focus on low-level system design. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical projects that enhance system performance, reliability, and security. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet client requirements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of proven experience in a systems engineering role within IT or software systems. A strong familiarity with systems engineering frameworks such as ICOSE, NAF, DODAF, MODAF, or MBSE is essential. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of both software and hardware used in IT systems, along with experience working within Agile and Waterfall delivery models. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are critical, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred. Proficiency with system modeling tools like SysML, UML, Cameo, or Archimate is advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Update system design artifacts and documentation to accurately reflect RVTM mappings.
- Collaborate with testing teams to review requirements against test cases and acceptance criteria, identify gaps, and propose solutions.
- Define and agree upon acceptance criteria with stakeholders and customers to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Support the definition, design, and documentation of system interfaces, ensuring seamless integration across components.
- Implement version control for all systems engineering artifacts and interface documents to maintain traceability and integrity.
- Document and manage the program's V Model activities and artifacts, liaising with delivery team leads to ensure consistency.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate hardware, software, and network component integration.
- Create detailed data flow diagrams and data matrix views to support system understanding and communication.
- Contribute to the Systems Concept of Operations documentation through process definition and formal documentation practices.
- Track progress of deliverables, dependencies, and milestones, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Review and update the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) as needed to reflect project changes.
- Document engineering management and governance processes to ensure compliance and best practices.
