About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Automation Workflow Specialist with expertise in the Itential Automation Platform (IAP). This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimising automation workflows to enhance efficiency in network operations and business processes.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in building and deploying automation workflows using Itential, alongside a strong background in network and systems automation. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient workflow solutions aligned with broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy automation workflows using the Itential Automation Platform (IAP).
- Collaborate with network engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and design automation solutions.
- Design end-to-end automation workflows for network and operational processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Create and manage device and API integrations within Itential to streamline workflows.
- Monitor and maintain deployed workflows, addressing performance issues and implementing iterative improvements.
- Leverage Itential’s API, adapters, and modules to develop custom automation use cases.
- Implement error handling, logging, and reporting mechanisms to enhance workflow reliability and visibility.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members on Itential workflows and best practices.
- Stay abreast of latest Itential and automation technology advancements to foster innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Itential Automation Platform (IAP), including workflows, integrations, and custom adapters.
- In-depth understanding of network automation concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSH, SNMP.
- Proficiency in Python scripting, with a focus on automating tasks and API integration.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and experience building/testing API integrations.
- Experience with Git or version control systems for workflow management.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex workflow issues.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with other automation platforms, such as Ansible, Terraform, or Cisco NSO.
- Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Background in network engineering (e.g., CCNA, CCNP certifications).
- Understanding of ITIL processes and service automation practices.
