ITU Team Lead
Nursing Team Lead | Intensive Care (ITU) – Full-Time 7-Day Rota
Spire St Anthony’s Hospital, Sutton
Spire St Anthony’s Hospital is seeking an experienced ICU Team Lead to join our supportive intensive care team. You will care for level 2/3 patients, working alongside leading regional consultants while expanding your clinical expertise within our multispecialty operative unit.
With six operating theatres covering orthopaedics, gynaecology, cardio-thoracic, and general surgery, our facility delivers high-quality private healthcare in Sutton, Epsom, and nearby areas—all supported by a skilled, dedicated team.
About the Role
Location: Sutton, Surrey
Contract: Full-time, 7-day rotating rota
Key Responsibilities
The ICU Team Lead will ensure the following is delivered within the ITU environment:
- Lead and coordinate daily care planning, supporting senior nurses and healthcare assistants.
- Oversee safe, high-standard patient care for level 2/3 ICU patients, including assessment, reassessment, and health monitoring.
- Deliver awareness of emotional wellbeing within a dynamic caseload.
- Safely handle and share complex/sensitive medical information.
- Coordinate post-operative care for cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and general surgical patients.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver person-centred care.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date patient records.
- Foster effective nutrition, hydration, and physician liaison.

Requirements
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
- NMC-registered nurse (with no restrictions).
- Minimum of ICU experience—mandatory for this role.
- Possession of an approved ICU certificate.
- Proven experience as a Team Lead or senior role in a clinical setting.
- Cardiac surgery experience is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
