Job Opportunity: Full-Time Temporary Janitor Closing Date: 16th July 2026 Contract Type: Full Time, Term Time, Temporary (until 22/12/2026) Salary: £24,060 - £24,543 per annum Hours: 35 per week Location: Fallin Primary School, Stirling


About the Role

An opportunity has arisen within Stirling Council at Fallin Primary School for a full-time temporary janitor. The role involves providing essential janitorial services to support the school community on a term-time basis for a duration of approximately six months.

This position operates Monday to Friday, with working hours dedicated from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, including an unpaid 60-minute break. Successful applicants will be paid under Stirling Council Grade 4.


Key Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive janitorial services for Fallin Primary School.
  • Porterage and heavy lifting duties as part of core responsibilities.
  • Regular engagement in outdoor tasks, including inclement weather conditions.
  • Occasional overtime required to cover evening school lets.

Technical Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate a basic working knowledge of IT.
  • Willingness to undergo necessary training to utilise Stirling Council’s online HR and training systems.

Requirements and Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Physical fitness: Ability to perform porterage and heavy lifting as part of daily duties.
  • Willingness to work outdoors at times, regardless of weather conditions.
  • A commitment to maintaining personal safety during the execution of tasks.

Security & Vetting: The Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults check will be mandatory. Successful candidates will be requested to complete the form during the recruitment process, with their details verified accordingly.
