BAM UK & Ireland are recruiting a Janitor for our FM segment of the business and to join the Team covering Bromsgrove Schools. Working 37.5 hours per week. Hours to be confirmed. This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.
Pay: £13.05 per Hour.
Among many support services our enhanced family friendly package includes: Men’s and Women’s health, fertility support, maternity, paternity and shared parental leave, fostering leave, menopause support, carer leave, surrogacy and adoption support.
Making Possible
- Planned cleaning.
- Cover staff absences (Sickness and Annual leave) within caretaking teams.
- Assist Senior Janitor overseeing specialist and deep cleaning programmes during school holiday closures or other designated periods.
- Supervision of contractors when required.
- Support main kitchens at lunch time; Ferring back trays and crockery into kitchen. Using dishwasher to support service.
- Ensure basic daily maintenance of cleaning equipment is being carried out.
- Support Senior Janitor in delivery of Waste Management.
- Liaise daily with Senior Janitor & attend meetings as required.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Senior Janitor with delivery of annual life cycle programme.
- Undertake first day inductions for new starters (Cleaning Staff).
- Emergency Reactive Cleaning.
- Emergency cover operating tills within main kitchens.
Your team
You will be working in a school environment with cleaner, senior janitor and facilities team.

What do you bring to the role?
- Previous experience of working in a school or similar environment.
- BICS qualification or comparable experience in relevant discipline.
- Good numeracy/literacy skills / GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English.
- IT Literate in Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to relate well to customers, work colleagues and children.
- Working knowledge of Health, Safety & Welfare Regulations.
- Understanding of COSHH Regulations.
- Awareness of Manual Handling.
- Team-leading skills.
