Japanese-speaking community manager

Community Manager (Japanese-speaking)

We are looking for a passionate and proactive Community Manager to lead and grow our Japanese-speaking community. You will be the bridge between our product team and the community, ensuring our users are engaged, heard, and supported. This is a unique opportunity to shape a growing community in a fast-paced, international environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Community Building: Form and develop a thriving Japanese-speaking community.
  • Outreach & Engagement: Attract new members and ensure an inclusive, vibrant atmosphere.
  • Event Participation: Attend offline events and engage with community members face-to-face.
  • Channel Management: Moderate and manage existing Discord channel.
  • User Support: Actively interact in chats, help onboard new members, and provide friendly support.
  • Feedback Loop: Gather and share user feedback to improve our platform’s functionality.
  • Conflict Management: Prevent and resolve community conflicts with professionalism.
  • Analytics & Activities: Monitor community metrics and conduct engagement activities to foster participation.

You’ll thrive here if you have

  • Japanese language proficiency
  • 1+ year of experience as a Community Manager, Content Manager, or Social Media Manager in an online project.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher — our internal team communicates primarily in English.
  • Proficient in or familiar with Discord — a major plus!
  • Highly literate, attentive, and empathetic with a keen eye for community sentiment.
  • Self-driven and proactive — you take ownership and don’t wait to be told what to do.
  • Excellent communicator — diplomatic, open-minded, and emotionally intelligent.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and creating an environment of psychological safety.
