A Japanese financial institution in London is currently recruiting for a Planning Officer position.
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience
Employment Type: Initial 6-month fixed-term contract (with the possibility of extension based on performance)
Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Provide overall project support, including preparation of presentation materials, data analysis, and other project-related tasks using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Monitor project progress and coordinate with relevant internal departments.
- Communicate in English with external vendors and consulting firms.
- Participate in internal and external meetings and follow up on action items.
- Conduct regular monitoring of departmental progress and activities.
- Manage schedules and coordinate timelines.
- Act as a liaison with the Head Office in Japan and other domestic and overseas stakeholders.
- Provide ad hoc administrative and operational support as required.

Requirements
- Experience in a planning, strategy, or project-related function within a bank or securities firm.
- At least 3 years of working experience in a Japanese company or in Japan.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver work accurately within deadlines.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Comfortable managing documents and information through online platforms and systems.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
- A proactive team player with a positive and collaborative attitude.

Visa Requirements
- Applicants must generally hold a visa that allows them to work in the UK without sponsorship on a long-term basis.
- Candidates holding a Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) visa or Graduate Visa with at least one year of remaining validity may also be considered, depending on their experience.
