Job Title: Java Backend Developer
Experience: 5–8 Years
Location: Osterley, UK (Onsite)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and a Media & Entertainment domain background. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and APIs that power media streaming, content management, digital publishing, or OTT platforms. The candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills and experience building high-performance, cloud-native microservices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build RESTful APIs and Microservices following industry best practices.
- Develop highly available and secure backend services for media content delivery platforms.
- Integrate with Content Management Systems (CMS), media asset management systems, and third-party services.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and Frontend developers in Agile environments.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and CI/CD implementation.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Ensure application security, logging, monitoring, and performance tuning.

Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Java Backend Development.
- Strong experience in Java 8/11/17.
- Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security.
- Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture.
- Experience developing REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Hibernate/JPA.
- Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ or other messaging platforms.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
Mandatory Domain Experience
Candidates must have Media & Entertainment domain experience, including one or more of the following:
- OTT/Video Streaming Platforms
- Digital Media
- Broadcasting
- Video-on-Demand (VOD)
- Live Streaming
- Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Digital Asset Management (DAM)
- Media Workflow Automation
- Video Encoding/Transcoding
- DRM (Digital Rights Management)
- CDN Integration
- Metadata Management
- Content Publishing Platforms

Preferred Skills
- Experience with GraphQL.
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch/Solr.
- Experience with Redis or other caching technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
- Exposure to Event-Driven Architecture.
- Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and API Security.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience working on OTT platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, SonyLIV, Zee5, JioHotstar, or similar media platforms.
- Knowledge of video streaming protocols (HLS, MPEG-DASH).
- Experience with media processing workflows and content delivery networks (CDNs).
