Our client, a leading consultancy delivering cutting-edge technology for major financial institutions, is hiring Senior and Principal Backend Engineers to build robust, cloud-native Java solutions for a major digital banking platform serving millions of customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Designing and building microservices-based applications using Java 11/17+ and Spring Boot
- Delivering enterprise-ready cloud solutions on AWS
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with secure, scalable deployments
- Writing strong test coverage and championing quality-driven development
- Collaborating in agile teams, contributing to architecture and design decisions
- (Principal level) Leading technical direction, mentoring engineers, and owning solution design across squads

Requirements
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Expert-level Java (11, 17, 21+) and Spring Boot
- Strong AWS experience, including hands-on deployment of enterprise-grade systems
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native design
- Proficiency with Kafka, Java Streaming, and cross-functionality in SQL/NoSQL
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CloudFormation) and distributed systems troubleshooting
- Strong preference for fintech or product-company backgrounds
- Adaptable and proactive approach to high-visibility, collaborative projects—no roles for those seeking a low-key position

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)
- GitLab CI/CD experience and familiarity with Cucumber/BDD (Behaviour-Driven Development)
- AWS Solutions Architect certification
- Knowledge of CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation) and performance testing
- Genuine interest in emerging cloud technology and AI-assisted development
