Job Title: Java Spring Boot Consultant
Location: Glasgow, Scotland, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Java Spring Boot Consultant to join a leading financial services project in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Microservices development, along with experience designing and developing RESTful APIs in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and Spring Boot Microservices.
- Participate in project analysis, technical design, development, implementation, and commissioning phases.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and assess their impact on application architecture.
- Prepare Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with Platform Design teams on Microservices architecture and design activities.
- Identify technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies, and provide mitigation plans.
- Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance RESTful services.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and QA teams throughout the SDLC.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
- Solid experience with Hibernate.
- Experience building REST APIs and SOAP Web Services.
- Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE technologies.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL, and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git, SVN, CVS, or Gerrit.
- Experience using Jenkins for CI/CD.
- Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
- Exposure to AWS or other Cloud platforms.
- Experience with application servers such as JBoss, Tomcat, or Apache.

Nice to Have
- Experience with Angular or React.
- Knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS.
- Previous experience working within Banking or Financial Services environments.
