Reporting of the Role This role reports to Senior Java Developer
Overview
We are in search of a backend engineer with an affinity for technical excellence and keen interest in enhancing user experiences.
You will be part of our esteemed DAX engineering team, responsible for:
- Building and leading product-related decisions
- Taking ownership of technical initiatives
- Driving improvements across the platform
The primary focus of this role will be our ad server platform – you will contribute to building and improving products related to direct and programmatic campaign lifecycle management from booking to fulfilment, tracking, and reporting.
You'll work within a tight-knit, agile team:
- Modern Java microservices (Java 21, Spring Boot)
- Kubernetes deployments (EKS on AWS)
- DevOps tools (Jenkins, Terraform)
- Observability platform (Prometheus & Grafana)
- Collaborative team culture focused on innovation and ambition
Key Responsibilities

Feature development:
- Build platform architecture to support features on the roadmap
- Deliver business value through quality, timely deliverables
- Take ownership from conception to production

Collaboration with development:
- Drive technical conversations with developers/purchase owners
- Ensure seamless integration of software components

Champion code quality:
- Lead by example in code reviews
- Proactively drive standards improvement and mentorship

Job Requirements
Required:
- Self-driven, proactive problem-solver with track record of initiative and ownership
- Ability to make pragmatic decisions and own features end-to-end
- Expertise in Java or similar language weighing clean code and contract-first design principles
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Write well-tested, production-ready code
- Account for observability requirements
- Lead technical conversations in cross-functional teams
- Deep attention to detail and commitment to honesty and execution
- Passionate about addressing technical debt/performance issues

Compelling Bonus Experience
- DevOps expertise (Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
