Java Developer - Low Latency

Senior / Lead Java Engineer

A leading global financial markets infrastructure and data organisation

We're seeking a Senior / Lead Java Engineer to join a high-performing technology team delivering business-critical trading and market infrastructure solutions. As the backplane for global financial markets, our organisation prioritises cutting-edge engineering, cloud adoption, platform transformation, and low-latency technology—offering you the chance to contribute to scalable systems at scale.

Your Role

This is a key technical leadership opportunity where you’ll:

  • Partner with a high-performance engineering team to design, build, and evolve low-latency, high-throughput trading systems used in front-office environments.
  • Drive strategic projects, including:
    • Modernising and optimising electronic trading platforms.
    • Developing real-time processing systems.
    • Large-scale platform modernisation initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with traders, quant analysts, and business stakeholders, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead performance optimisation, microservices adoption, and migration of legacy systems to cloud-native architectures.
  • Champion technological best practices in concurrency, multithreading, and distributed systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
