What Does the Job Look Like?

This role offers a dynamic and varied work environment with no two days the same. You’ll be part of a passionate team driving our digital transformation as an IT Developer in the CIO IT team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain core systems for policy administration and claims handling
  • Collaborate to design, build, and enhance new features and functionality to meet evolving business needs
  • Implement mandatory and regulatory changes, including:
    • Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) compliance updates
    • Reporting requirements for regulatory bodies
  • Integrate new suppliers and systems to streamline workflows
  • Work across system and software design, coding, and analysis
  • Participate in daily team communication, scrum meetings, and design reviews

You’ll also receive training in Guidewire, a leading platform in the insurance industry.


Job Details

Core Duties & Tasks

  • Write and modify software to agreed standards under guidance from senior team members
  • Conduct testing and debugging of code, correct errors, and re-test to achieve error-free results
  • Document work in accordance with internal standards, including UNIT test coverage, and state for validations for new code
  • Demonstrates strong analysis and problem-solving skills with a rational, logical approach
  • Leverage relational databases and analysis for impact assessment and error resolution

Requirements & Skills We Look For

Must-Haves

  • 2+ years’ proven experience as an IT Developer in an agile team, focusing on enterprise-level applications
  • Experience with:
    • Java/JVM-based solutions
    • Spring frameworks and Object-Oriented Design
    • Version control software (e.g., GitHub)
    • APIs (SOAP, REST) and data formats (JSON, XML)
    • Test-driven development (TDD or BDD)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with Spring Boot / Microservices architectures
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (SQL)
