Java Engineer
Java Developer/ Engineer required to join a team supporting and enhancing critical enterprise applications within a complex technology environment.
This role is on a hybrid basis with 2 days per week onsite. Suitable for candidates located across the West Midlands, Staffordshire, and Shropshire regions, with the ability to attend a Midlands-based office twice per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications
- Support and enhance existing live services
- Investigate and resolve application defects and incidents
- Develop and implement application improvements and new functionality
- Write and optimise Oracle SQL queries
- Support batch processing and operational activities
- Manage code using Git and Maven
- Deploy and support applications on WebLogic servers
- Work with containerised environments, including Kubernetes
- Collaborate with developers, testers, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions

- Strong Java development experience in an enterprise environment
- Hands-on experience with WebLogic application servers
- Strong Oracle SQL skills
- Experience using Git for version control
- Experience with Maven build and dependency management
- Experience working with Kubernetes and containerised platforms
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Experience supporting and maintaining production applications
