Java Fullstack Developer

Java Full Stack Developer – Financial Services Business Unit

Location: Hybrid (Office, Client Sites, Home with occasional on-site requirements) Role: Financial Services Business Unit, Capgemini’s Cloud and Custom Applications (C&CA) practice

About The Role

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality full-stack application solutions aligned with business and customer objectives.
  • Contribute to designing scalable, maintainable, and resilient application architectures.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, architecture, and delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Apply AI-enabled ways of working to enhance productivity, accelerate delivery, and improve quality.
  • Champion secure, compliant, and high-quality engineering practices across all stages of delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement through peer reviews, mentorship, and feedback.
  • Optimise performance, reliability, and user experience in delivered solutions.
  • Actively participate in Agile planning, estimation, refinement, and delivery improvements.

What We’d Like From You

Essential Skills

  • Strong experience delivering full-stack development across frontend and backend.
  • Proven expertise in designing scalable APIs and distributed application solutions.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and modern development practices.
  • Experience with relational (e.g., SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development, deployment, and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., AI pair programming, code optimisation).
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Good-To-Have Skills

  • Frontend frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue.js
  • Backend languages: Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, or Python
  • API/microservices: Knowledge of RESTful APIs, Kafka, or gRPC
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications
  • Containerisation: Docker and Kubernetes
  • Version control: Git (Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab)
  • AI tools: Claude, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT
  • Certifications: Cloud, architecture, agile, or software engineering credentials
