Java Software Engineer
Java Software Engineer – Defence, Cyber & Intelligence
Full-Time | UK Security Clearance Required (eDV)
About the Role
We’re looking for experienced Software Engineers at all career levels to join a prominent aerospace and defence company. You’ll develop mission-critical software for high-stakes projects in Defence, Cyber, and Intelligence, working on advanced DevSecOps systems and secure digital infrastructure across the UK.
This is a purpose-driven role with flexible working options, career growth, and meaningful impact on national security. An eDV (Electronic Defence Vetting) clearance is essential—note the clearance process may take 6–18 months before employment can begin.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and debug software solutions for secure systems
- Build and maintain test frameworks (JUnit 5 and beyond)
- Develop in Linux environments using Java, Python, and modern frameworks
- Collaborate with Agile/SCRUM methodologies and GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute end-to-end across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

- Cloud (AWS based stacks and solutions)

Security & Compliance
- Experience within a UK-endorsed security framework (e.g., MoD/DBE, NCSC, SOG)
- Familiarity with defence-grade vetting protocols (eDV)
