Role: Java Engineer
Location: Burgess Hill/ London
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week
Contract Type: Contract – Inside IR35
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Java Engineers to join a large-scale enterprise programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications, microservices, and cloud-native solutions using modern Java technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java.
- Develop scalable backend services and microservices.
- Design and consume RESTful APIs.
- Integrate applications with databases and external systems.
- Troubleshoot application issues and optimize performance.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and developers.
- Ensure applications are secure, scalable, and highly available.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments.

Required Skills
- Strong experience with Java (8/11/17/21).
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
- Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture.
- Experience developing REST APIs.
- Experience with Apache Kafka.
- Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Git, Maven, and CI/CD tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
