Java Software Engineer
BlackRock is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Tech & Ops Platform Enablement Development team. This role contributes to the delivery of high-quality technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency at global scale. The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders to design and implement workflows that streamline processes across functions.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop business-process-centric technology solutions that enable global operational scale.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements and implement efficient workflows across functions and domains.
- Translate business objectives and constraints into clear technical designs and implementable solutions.
- Address complex problems in a dynamic environment, with emphasis on process optimisation, data, and technology.
- Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships, demonstrating a collaborative approach and strong client-service orientation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing complex enterprise software systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited institution, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with software development lifecycle practices, including agile delivery and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and practical experience applying design patterns in one or more languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
- Demonstrated experience designing and working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, Sybase).

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
